Teen to young for driving licence aces his Formula 4 debut

Joseph Loake, 16, finishes season with three race victories and in sixth overall

A TEENAGE racer has completed a successful debut season in Formula 4 - and still isn’t old enough to pass his driving test.

Joseph Loake, 16, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, ended the season in sixth place on the leader board and managed to win three out of the 30 races.

He raced at meetings in front of 40,000 spectators and they were broadcast on ITV4.

The season ran from May to October and Joseph, of Congleton Road, hopes to compete again next year - if sponsorship can be secured. In the meantime he is attending the Motorsport UK course at Loughborough College.
