The finalists have been announced for the second annual Scotland Loves Local Awards and we’re delighted to report that the East Lothian rollout of the SOLE Scotland app has been nominated in the Digital Town category!

SOLE, a Scottish Tech Army initiative, supported by the UK Community Renewal Fund and East Lothian Council, is one of three organisations short-listed for The Digital Town Awards.

The awards are organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) as part of the Scotland Loves Local campaign, which encourages everyone to choose local and support businesses in their communities to build a better, stronger future.

The whole SOLE team are thrilled that we are shortlisted and know that without the amazing welcome we have received from thousands of residents of East Lothian, we would not be the success that we are. Thank you.

We are also incredibly thankful that the organisations in East Lothian have taken to the SOLE Scotland web and mobile app, with more than 700 local businesses and community organisations showcasing their fantastic offerings and encouraging people to enjoy living locally.

The SOLE community engagement team have attended meetings and events across the county since the platform launched in June and work closely with businesses and community groups to help them make the most of the SOLE app.

Alistair Forbes, CEO of the Scottish Tech Army said “we are absolutely delighted that the SOLE initiative has been shortlisted in the Scotland Loves Local Awards.

This is a wonderful recognition of our local team’s efforts and the communities they are working in. We extend our congratulations to all the nominees for this year’s Awards.

The achievements of all of those shortlisted will be celebrated as part of the Scotland’s Towns Conference at CentreStage in Kilmarnock on Wednesday, November 16th, to which we have all been invited. The day will culminate in the winners being announced by the event host, broadcaster Rona Dougall.”
