Queen's Platinum Jubilee Beacons: Musselburgh
1 year ago | 579 Views
Deputy lord lieutenant Iain Clark last night lit a jubilee beacon in Musselburgh as part of the national tribute to the Queen.
Well-wishers gathered on the beach near Fisherrow Links for the event organised by Musselburgh and Inveresk Community Council.
They included representatives from the Musselburgh's sea, army and air cadet units.
The Musselburgh-based Clark Community Council sang A Song For The Commonwealth as the beacon was set alight.
Prior to the lighting ceremony, in celebration of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, Musselburgh and Penicuik Boys’ Brigade Pipe Band played Diu Regnare which was followed by a bugle call entitled Majesty.
