A WELL-KNOWN Dunbar landmark has received a fresh coat of paint.

A Second World War 25-pounder artillery field gun overlooks the North Sea at The Glebe.

It was acquired by the town about 20 years ago, from Edinburgh Castle, to mark Dunbar’s long association with the artillery regiments of the British army.

But its constant exposure to salty air means it needs protection from the elements to stop it rusting.

Dunbar Community Council provided £250 so it could be re-painted.
