Don’t forget it’s our first Winter Talk of 2023 next Thursday 26 January. Join Annie Scanlon from the Costume Society, as she discusses the visit of George IV to Scotland in 1822. There was widespread concern about etiquette and clothing for the King’s visit, the first visit of a reigning monarch to Scotland in nearly two centuries. Annie’s talk will begin at 7 for 7.30pm in St Andrew’s Blackadder Chapel area, doors open at 6.30pm. There will be an optional collection to raise money for Annie’s chosen charity, ‘The Camel Girls of Northern Kenya’ which aims to provide the girls with reusable sanitary products.
