A food blogger from Macclesfield has gained a massive following on social media through cooking and food photography.

Samuel Bradbury, 33, goes by the name of 'Fat Sam Eats' on social media platforms and has over 40,000 followers on Instagram.

The Cheshire-based content creator wants to push even further with the food blogging and take his 'opportunity'.

Samuel works as a full-time plumber and revealed that a 'secret service' experience at a restaurant in Manchester is where his food journey began.

He said: "I am a plumber and that's the job I do full-time and have done for 17 years for the same company.

"I have always had a love for food but I remember going to a restaurant called Almost Famous in Manchester around 6 years ago and it was just one place at the time and was very underground.

"You had to walk up to a random person on the door and ask for a table.

"You'd never have known it was there because there were no signs and it was like something in the secret service.

"The burgers and hot dogs they used to do were just absolutely amazing.

"My mate took me at the time and I fell in love and on my way back home I remember thinking how I'd love to go to places like that do it as a job."

Samuel's content creation started on Facebook, where he would post pictures of basic meals that he would eat throughout the day on his new food account called 'I heart bacon'.

"I just started putting posts out of pictures of tea and crumpets, it was really rubbish at first." he said.

"I remember when I was doing this someone put a status up asking why would anyone want to see what you are eating?

"After this I thought I'd set up a page just for food and I called it 'I heart bacon', so people could follow if they wanted to.

"I started making bacon butties and meat from the butchers to post on the account, then I started making normal food and burgers on the account."

At the time, Samuel's food account had just over 1,000 followers and he felt a change of name was needed as he looked to re-brand his social media pages.

"I wanted to change my name on the account and I spoke to a friend and asked for advice and he agreed, so I had to then come up with a new name.

"I loved the name 'Fat Sam' because of the film Bugsy Malone and the scene where they shoot custard, so I used it and put eats on the end because that's what I do.

"I've never really taken it too seriously, I've always just done what I enjoy and people just seem to like the content."

Samuel mainly operates on Instagram but features frequently on 'The Manc' account on YouTube, which covers life in the Manchester area.

'Fat Sam Eats' feels the next step is to grow his presence on the platform but feels it is a 'difficult' step to make in his life.

He said: "YouTube is a big thing that I want to get myself into but it's hard to get into when you're working full-time and have a family as it is really time-consuming in comparison to making reels for my Instagram account.

"It's really difficult to find time as my two kids are young and I love spending time with my family on the weekends.
